William Furniss
Born in London in 1970, William Furniss was destined to pursue a career in photography. He studied Engineering at Exeter University, spending much of that time honing his photographic and darkroom skills, and upon graduating in 1991 returned to London where he found work assisting several luminaries of the London photography scene including Patrick Litchfield and Terry O’Neill.

Based in Hong Kong since 1993, Furniss has pursued a dual career in commercial and fine art photography. He is a renowned and much sought-after commercial photographer, boasting many long standing clients including The Peninsula Hotel, Hongkong Land and Christies. In parallel he has developed his signature fine art photography. Furniss spent two years in New York from 1999 to 2001, and the city inspired him to explore the photography of motion, long exposures, overlapping imagery, bright lights and colour saturation. Since returning to Hong Kong, he has found much inspiration in defining the symbiotic visual relationship between these two great metropolis.
