Marcos Marin
Marcos Marin is a Brazilian painter-sculptor, expert in optical art.

His portraits, whether they are paintings or sculptures, are easy to recognize at first glance. He plays with optical effects and perspectives in order get the audience involved with his art pieces. Marcos Marin has first developed his artistic sensibility through piano. At a young age he started a career as a pianist and came to France in order to further his studies in music. In 1990, Marcos Marin meets Vasarely at the Cité Internationale des Arts de Paris. His carreer in optical art begins.

In 2006, Marcos Marin meets the stylist and the sponsor, Pierre Cardin, who offers him the possibility of realizing works of large format in the studio of Lacoste. In the meantime, Marcos Marin works in Portugal with Stanley Ho within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the Casino of Estoril. The sponsor will offer to the artist two medals of honor: the one thanking the artist for the exhibition dedicated to the gallery of the Casino and the other one for the portrait Stanley Ho realized in Macao. Marcos Marin is later invited to set his exhibit in Monaco and becomes the official artist of Prince Albert.

The monumentalism of Marcos Marin acquires notoriety especially in the region of the “Cote d’Azur” from 2010 with the inauguration of the public historical monument in the town of Villefranche-sur-mer, “Jean Cocteau” followed by the monument to “Princess Grace” in Monaco in 2011 and the memorial “Coco Chanel” perennial monument in Roquebrune Cap-Martin. Marcos Marin is elected member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Portugal in 2011. 2012 marks the history of Marin as the most productive on monumental sculptures, public art projects and commanded official portraits : sculpture ” Lee kuen Yew” in Singapore for the auction by Christies in favor of Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, portrait « Vladimir Poutine » for the first prize at the Academy of Fine Arts of Russia,”Joao de Deus” founder of the schools that bears his name in Portugal, commanded by his grandson sr. Ponces de Carvalho current president of the group of school.

Marcos Marin believes collaborating with Avenue des Arts will enable him to keep exploring his art in Asia in order to create unique projects.
