Phoebe Man is a conceptual artist, media sculptor, independent curator and working as Assistant Professor of the City University of Hong Kong. She is a communicator. Her works are attempts to communicate with herself, the society, the art history and the audience. Starting with self-exploration, researching ideologies and doing experiments of visual language, her works are mostly cross-disciplinary and address social concerns. Her working media include mixed media sculpture, installation art, performance, video art and web art. The sanitary napkin flowers series installations and video work “Rati” have received popular recognition. Her recent works are related to issues of sexual assault and housing problem. Her recent research interest is related to Hong Kong Socially Engaged Art.
